Privacy policy

wagisk.com is operated by Iris K. and Melsjan S. from Albania. This policy explains what information we (“Wagisk”, “we”) collect when you use wagisk.com, why, and the choices you have. Wagisk is an information site; it does not sell products, take payments or offer user accounts.

Information we collect

• Usage data (analytics). We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are read and how visitors arrive. It uses cookies and similar technologies to collect data such as pages viewed, approximate location (city/country, derived from IP address), device and browser type, referring site, and clicks on outbound links. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store full IP addresses. Where your consent is needed, Google Analytics only runs after you accept it (see Cookies and your choice).
• Cookieless page counts. We also count page views and page-load speed with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which Cloudflare designed not to use cookies or other storage on your device.
• Affiliate link data. Wagisk is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. When you follow a link from our site to a retailer such as Amazon, third parties, including Amazon, may collect information directly from you and place or recognize cookies on your browser to attribute any purchase to our link. They tell us about qualifying purchases and commissions, not who you are. Amazon’s use of that information is covered by the Amazon Privacy Notice.
• Email. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message, and use it only to reply.
• Hosting logs. Our hosting and security provider (Cloudflare) processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.

We don’t ask for or knowingly collect sensitive information, and the site isn’t directed at children under 13.

How we use it

• To run, secure and improve the site and its guides.
• To measure which guides are useful and which outbound links are clicked.
• To answer messages you send us.

Who we share it with

• Google (Analytics) — see how Google uses data from sites that use its services.
• Cloudflare (hosting and security).
• Affiliate programs and networks, through their own cookies, when you click an affiliate link.
• Authorities, where the law requires it.

Cookies and your choice

If you visit from the European Union/EEA, the United Kingdom, Switzerland or Albania, Google Analytics loads only after you click “Accept” on our cookie notice; if you decline or ignore it, Google Analytics does not run. Elsewhere, Google Analytics runs by default and you can switch it off. Your location for this purpose comes from your IP address and is not stored.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time with Cookie settings, also at the bottom of every page. Declining deletes the Google Analytics cookies on wagisk.com. We remember your choice in your browser’s local storage (“wgk-consent”); this is needed to respect it and is not used for anything else.

Tracking across sites and “Do Not Track”

Other parties, including Google (through Google Analytics) and retailers such as Amazon after you follow one of our links, may collect information about your online activities over time and across different websites. Our site does not respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals, because there is no agreed standard for them. We do honor Global Privacy Control, as described under Your choices.

We don’t sell your personal information for money. Some US state laws treat analytics or advertising cookies as a “sale” or “sharing”; see your choices below.

Your choices

• Cookies: use Cookie settings to accept or decline Google Analytics, or block or delete cookies in your browser settings. You can also install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
• Interest-based ads: Wagisk shows no ads, but retailers you visit through our links may. You can manage Amazon’s interest-based ads at amazon.com/adprefs and opt out with many ad companies at YourAdChoices.
• Global Privacy Control: if your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of personal information.
• Access, correction, deletion: depending on where you live (for example the EU/UK under the GDPR, or US states such as California), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information, or to object to or restrict its use. Email [email protected] and we’ll respond within the time the law requires. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

Legal bases (EU/UK visitors)

We rely on your consent for Google Analytics cookies, and you can withdraw it at any time through Cookie settings. We rely on legitimate interests to run and secure the site and for cookieless page counts. We reply to emails on the basis of your request.

Retention

Google Analytics data is kept for up to 14 months. Emails are kept as long as needed to deal with your message and then deleted.

International transfers

Our service providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States, under safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

Past store customers

Wagisk previously operated an online store. Order records from that period were held by our former e-commerce platform and are kept only as long as tax and accounting rules require. Email us for any request about them.
